1) Finished making a first draft of my slides for the JSM Conf. Took some time to organize notes (such as activities tied to the grant and progress towards them).

2) Reverted changes made on Friday based on Toby’s comment.

3) Communicated with Joshua regarding GSoC.

• Apr 23, ‘24:

1) Collected feedback on my presentation from Toby and the lab group.

2) Fixed the third test case introduced in #6094 (Thanks to Toby and Michael!).

3) Made some of the suggested changes to my slides.

• Apr 24, ‘24:

1) Trying to have another test case (performance regression) to add in a new PR.

2) Trying to figure out a way to get the ideal speedup plot for the function that provides the optimal thread count and timings for each parallelizable function in data.table.

• Apr 25, ‘24:

1) Continuing work on the last point.

2) Helped Doris with a performance improvement test case (to be run locally rather than using the GitHub action, and to increase the text size in her plots).

• Apr 26, ‘24:

1) Drafted a first version of the plots (will collect feedback on it next week from Toby).
